wavelets softly brush
the lake’s shore
wind over water
–Terry Chitwood
“Wind over Water” is hexagram 59 in The I Ching or Book of Changes. One image for “Wind over Water” is a warm, spring wind gently dissolving the winter ice on a lake, the soft overcoming the hard, the warm overcoming the cold. During this alchemical solutio, ice is changed into water.
Dance
Bird song drifts over the lake at dawn, notes like feathers caressing our ears, bringing us joy. Wavelets pat the shore, a delicate drumbeat . . . a heartbeat. Yellow beams from the sun dance to the beat—twirling, leaping, slowing . . . until they become perfectly still.
Wind
When trading, be flexible—bend like a tree, dancing with the wind. See the wind, as candlesticks like sand are blown into formations that show wind’s tracks, making the invisible visible. Wind, the unseen force, moving the market faster, now slower with its featherlike touch. Flow with the wind; be at one with the market.
