a strand of moonlight
entwined with
a strand of sunlight
yellow-white glow
–Terry Chitwood
Moonlight illumines the night, a pale light with a soft glow that takes the hard edge off a losing trading day . . . a losing trading week. Losing brings us into the night where we still need a light to guide us onward. Losing cuts our emotions to ribbons, requiring us to bathe in pure moonlight for healing. With moonlight penetrating our pores, we rejuvenate our souls, healing from the inside out.
Balance
On winning days, the sunlight reflects our happiness, our emotions sparkling in the warm air. Feeling ebullient, we overextend ourselves, forgetting our losses, forgetting the night. We tend to lose our way on the bright, sunny days. We need a proper balance of night and day.
Entwined
Sometimes we learn more from the night than from the day. Our losses act as sandpaper, sanding our rough edges into smoothness, making ourselves more fluid, less likely to get stuck. We distill our negative emotions through owning our suffering, turning coal into diamonds. Entwining moonlight with sunlight creates a balanced personality in which weakness becomes strength, suffering becomes transformation, and losing becomes winning.
