raven

the halo
of the
full moon
–Terry Chitwood
The raven, a guide to help you walk the moonlit path, a messenger of the gods calling you into divine service, calls your name. Enter the night; find the light. As a raven with moonlit eyes, spiral down into the dark depths of your psyche and retrieve the cup of overflowing light. Drink the light, turning your body into phosphorescent brilliance. This process describes the birth of your spirit body.
What Audience?
My rational mind says I sometimes write too esoterically and then lose my audience. It’s right . . . you know. I like to combine elements from Eastern and Western: mythology, folklore, tales, religions, alchemy–and the imaginal realm. So, hopefully, my audience of one (this doesn’t include me) will remain loyal.
Poetry
The psyche speaks poetically. So if you want to leave your rational mind behind in any endeavor, particularly trading, you need to learn the language of the psyche: poetry, imagery, and the creative use of words.
Humdrum
Trading can be so humdrum, waiting tediously for the next pattern to unfold—or fail, staring at bars or blips moving across the screen for hours on end, counting upward-moving candlesticks in waves, counting downward-moving candlesticks in waves, counting waves, switching to higher timeframes to count some more, switching to lower timeframes to count some more, and on . . . and on.
It’s All Greek to Me
Trading desperately needs poetic language. For instance, “Cyclopes ate my profit.” Or, “The Sirens’ singing lulled me into staying in my position too long.” Or, “Hermes stole my margin money.”
Many Disguises
And how is all that stuff about the raven important? You mean all that silly, absurd stuff whose meaning is hidden in poetic language? If a raven in your dream tonight whispered the direction of tomorrow’s market, wouldn’t that be ludicrous? Intuition wears many disguises.
