The Visual Investor: How to Spot Market Trends by John J. Murphy is a master teaching tool. The reason I rate it the number one book presently in the practical investing with technical analysis category is because the book uses chart pictures and concise explanations thereof to show how to make practical investment decisions.
Murphy states that this book was written “for the general public with little or no charting experience” (p.xv). Don’t let that statement fool you! Murphy masterfully interweaves asset allocation, sector rotation, intermarket analysis and other important concepts into a simple-to-read and easy-to-understand book that delivers profound information needed by every investor.
Do yourself a favor. Don’t say, “I don’t need another investment book.” Don’t deprive yourself of the knowledge that could be essential to your investment success.
