“There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light” (John 1: 6-8, KJV).
We are all called “to bear witness of the Light.” As traders, we are taught to worship the intellect . . . through learning strategies, techniques and methods. We leave God out of our trading. We need to keep the Light on. We need to discover God’s goal for us in our trading. Where is our individuation process or spiritual journey through our trading leading?
The Spiritual Path
“The psychology of individuation also has a teleological aspect. It points out that the life in us is striving toward a goal that is usually unseen and unrecognized by consciousness but is known somewhere in the unconscious. The increasing recognition by consciousness that such a goal exists and the increasing cooperation of the ego with the fulfillment of this goal make up an important part of psychological development. The fact that the achievement of such a psychological goal seems to be intrinsically important fortifies the faith that there is an overall purpose to life” (Mystical Christianity: A Psychological Commentary on the Gospel of John by John A. Sanford, p.39).
Humility
“An overall purpose to life.” An overall purpose to our trading. One of God’s goals in our trading is to humble us. Only through humility can we embrace God’s guidance. Otherwise, we think we can do it on our own. Another of God’s goals in our trading is to help us conquer fear.
Love
Love your trading. Love the market. Love the imperfection of it all.
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love” (1John 4:18, KJV).
