“Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O men of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ . . . Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be yours as well” (Mt. 6:28-33, RSV).
God provides. The mind divides. Your mind cuts up your life into little pieces in the name of logic. Your mind demands that your life makes sense. How can God focus on the intricacies of your individual life much less provide for its contingencies? “Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.” God knows the minute details of your life. He designed your destiny.
If your destiny is to become a trader, then follow in God’s footprints. See the signs He leaves for you each day. Contemplate these signs, because they are tailor-made for your life. If you’re meant to be a trader, God’s footprints will lead you into trading . . . not away from it.
If you are led by God step by step into trading, then become a lily in the market. Cleanse yourself. “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness.” Don’t let yourself be soiled by greed and envy. Don’t fall prey to the lure of success. The goal is not success, but following God. God’s path is the goal.
“In God We Trust” is printed on the back of US dollars. Perhaps, you should hold those words firmly in mind while trading . . . while living. Remember, “O men of little faith,” God provides the money. Watch the money flow in your life. God is behind it. “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be yours as well.” Write “In God We Trust” on your heart.
