The ninth Zen Ox-herding picture or the ninth stage on the road to enlightenment in Zen Buddhism is called “Return to the Source.” Hixon writes:
“This waxing and waning of life is no phantom or illusion but a manifestation of the Source. Why, then, is there a need to strive for anything? The waters are blue and the mountains are green” (Coming Home: The Experience of Enlightenment in Sacred Traditions by Lex Hixon, p.79).
Near the beginning of The Matrix Revolutions Neo is in the train station (subway station). Neo has a discussion with Ramachandra. Ramachandra says, “I see that you are in love. Can you tell me what you would give to hold on to that connection?” Neo replies, “Anything.” Neo has become selfless (egoless). Love transcends the ego leaving Neo grounded in the Source. In fact, it is because Neo is in this state of selfless love that enables him to reach the tenth stage of enlightenment later in The Matrix Revolutions.
The Candlesticks are Green, The Candlesticks are Red
Ordinary reality is spiritual. Love is the bridge between the mundane and the extraordinary. Love allows the ordinary to shine. But my trading screen is already too bright! Now what? Do you want me to learn to love my monitor? What does love or enlightenment have to do with trading?
In many cases, nothing. However, if you view your trading as a path to Self-development, then love and enlightenment are more important than winning. What if you could let your grandiose trading expectations burn like ashes and dissolve into the Source? Would the Source love you enough to accept your burnt offerings? Is love the essence of the Source? Let yourself fall into the Love and not only will your trading be transformed but the rest of your life as well.
