The Christian Trader: Disciples of Christ

7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give (Matthew 10:7-8, KJV).

Are we disciples of Christ? If so, aren’t we exhorted to do what the original disciples did in the above verses? You may ask, “Where do the above verses mention trading? Isn’t this supposed to be a trading blog?”

A Spiritual Forum

By putting “Christian” and “trader” together as in “Christian trader,” this blog becomes more than a trading blog. It functions as a spiritual forum—where God’s words can be heard. Trading is a part of God’s domain—not vice versa.

A shunned pariah? We need to cleanse our modern value system (non-value system?) and cast out the devils entombed in it. Society’s value system is based on secular rules, not on a solid foundation of spirituality.

The Living God Speaks

This is why, as traders, we can feel at times we are adrift on a meaningless sea of greed. Instead, we need to raise the dead . . . listening to the ways the living God speaks to us today as He did in ancient times —through dreams, signs and synchronicities, events, and relationships.

Modern Disciples

Listen to how the living God speaks to you through your trading. Pay attention to His subtleties. Develop a spiritual view of your trading. Become a modern disciple of Christ.
